Valentine is an 8 month old female silver tabby cat. She was discovered in a drive-in parking lot, getting on her hind legs and asking for help from people with their windows up; she allowed her rescuers to pick her up and, astonishingly, she went willingly into a crate. She is very snuggly and vocal, and truly love being with people. She was only recently acquired and will be available for adoption shortly.

Magdalena showed up heavily pregnant, and had 6 kittens just a couple of days later. She worked hard raising all her babies, did an amazing job, and now it’s her turn to find a new loving home.
Magdalena loves to be patted, and is very chatty when she wants attention. Now that her babies are all big and adopted she has been very laid back, spending most of her time looking out the windows at birds and squirrels. She loves cardboard scratchers and playing in tunnels. She isn’t thrilled about being picked up, but does tolerate it. She loves wet food, and is generally tolerant of other cats and dogs. She is accustomed to being crated, good with children (they might not want to pick her up), rides well in a car, and is litterbox trained.

The “Spooky” litter came a local community cat colony. The baby kitties were used as bait to trap mom who was TNR’d (Trap, Neuter, Released) after the kittens weaned, and returned to her colony while the kittens entered foster care. They are each delightful with their own unique personalities:
Cauldron – a very special boy. He’s been through so much and is soooo mischievous and silly. Also a big lover boy who sits on a shoulder like a parrot! He’s currently not cleared for adoption eligibility due to medical issues.
Adopted! Cobweb – sweetest baby angel. He is confident and outgoing. Wags his tail and always wants to be close to his human.
Adopted! Boo – a gorgeous little lady with a big personality. She keeps her siblings in line!
Adopted! Bones – a laid back, chill little man. He has no worries in this world!
Adopted! Moon – mysterious and shy. Despite being one of the bigger kittens in the litter, he is reserved and quiet.
Adopted! Raven – a chatty, independent leader! She could run her own company.

This spunky little guy is Dexter, a people-loving shadow who adores snuggling in laps and soaking up affection. Known for his signature, endearingly funny and attention-grabbing “scream,” Dexter’s personality is larger than life. While he can be selective with other dogs, he warms up with patience and enjoys their company once bonded. Crate trained, house trained (though he needs a little encouragement in snowy weather), good in a car, and cat-friendly, Dexter is ready to be the shining star of a loving home!
Happy Hounds Animal Rescue

Mercedes, a 3-year-old, 40-pound female lab/pit mix with medium energy, is seeking a loving forever home after a previous adoption return. This sweet girl, who was originally fostered from the OKC shelter, is crate and house trained, walks well on a leash, and enjoys car rides. While she’s excellent with dogs and loves people, her enthusiastic hugs might be overwhelming for small children. Mercedes is currently back in foster care, where she demonstrates her affectionate nature and good recall, especially when called back from her mail-delivery-alert duties. She thrives on human interaction and would make a wonderful companion for an active family.
Miller’s Cause

Reni was surrendered to the shelter by her previous owner for euthanization. (!?!?!?) She was emaciated and had recently had a litter of puppies. She is slow to get to know and trust new people, but is a very good girl. Reni is an Australian Shepherd mix, about 1 year old, and 45 lbs. She is crate trained, leash trained, good in a crate, good in a car and good with other dogs.
Misfits Mutts & Meows

Take two, they’re small! These four male tabby kittens are about 12 weeks old. They are crate trained, good with children, good with cats, and litterbox trained. Scotty and Peanut have classic tabby markings while Jasper and Cashew have a Bengal look about them. All four are happy, sweet and playful babies!

This adorable kittens is about 3 months old and ready to find a loving new home of her own. Her feral mom was rescued by a woman who was able to foster her kittens. Chessie is well-adjusted to other cats and litterbox trained, making her a delightful addition to any family.

These two male chihuahua mix puppies, are around 6-7 months old. They are a delightful bundle of energy and love. Crate trained and well-socialized, they’re good with dogs, children, and even cats. Initially from an “oops” litter, their previous owners couldn’t afford to keep all the dogs. The pups, though playful and happy, can be a bit shy.

Marilyn is a charming 1-2 year old tabby cat with a mysterious past. Found in an apartment complex parking lot, Marilyn’s untold story only adds to her allure. Despite her humble beginnings, she has quickly adjusted to the comforts of indoor life. Her playful curiosity and affectionate nature make her an ideal companion for anyone looking to add a touch of feline elegance to their home. She is litterbox trained.

Hank, Freckles and Sheba are pit/chiweenie mixes. What a combo! They are a bit past 9 weeks old and good with other dogs. They will be eligible for adoption in mid February. Do not pass these sweeeties up!

Sissy, Missy, and Bubba are all from the same litter and are approximately 7 months old, full of youthful energy and curiosity. These playful kittens are ready to bring joy and laughter to a loving home. Whether it’s chasing a ball of yarn, cuddling on a lap, or simply enjoying a good nap, these three are sure to steal your heart.

Groot and Rocket were abandoned in the country as mere babies. Despite their rough start, with a little love and care, they’ve overcome their initial health challenges. Though their large pupils give them an otherworldly appearance, they’re full of playful energy and affection. While they may need some time to adjust to a new environment, they’re sure to become cherished members of a patient and loving family. Due to their high energy and sensitivity, they may not be the best fit for homes with very young children.

Fritzie, a sweet and curious 1.5-2 year old female cat, was found abandoned in the small town of Crescent, OK. Despite her tough start, she is a loving and playful companion, eager to find her forever home. Though she may be a bit shy at first, she warms up quickly and enjoys cuddling and playing with her human friends. Fritzie is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and ready to bring joy to a family who will cherish her.
OKC Animal Welfare
A note about OKC Animal Welfare adoptables: because these animals live in foster homes rather than the shelter, they do not appear on the shelter’s website. For each one, within their bio, there is a link to call or email their foster people, or to their PetFinder profile.

Holly is a 2 and a half year old hound mix, approximately 40 lbs. Her ID# is A440327. She has a medium energy level, is crate and leash trained, good in a car and good with other dogs with slow introductions. Holly can be very playful, but also settles down easily. Holly can entertain herself for a good while with a nylabone, and loves to sleep on the couch or a bed. For more information about Holly or to arrange a meeting, contact her foster people at okboxerdog1@gmail.com.

Nate is a 2-year-old, 70-pound male German Shepherd mix who has been in foster care since October, and has shown great progress. Playful and energetic, Nate would make an excellent running, walking, or hiking companion and is ready for any adventure. He is great in a crate, on a leash, and rides well in a car with some coaxing. While he plays well with other dogs, he is a bit food aggressive and should be fed separately, although this is improving. Nate is jumpy and needs firm boundaries around small children, especially when food is involved. Very snuggly and affectionate, Nate craves attention and is making great strides in housebreaking in his foster home. For more information about Nate, contact his foster people at staceysheely@gmail.com.

Winnie is a beautiful shepherd mix that has bounced in and out of the shelter for close to a year. She is a very social girl who loves people. Housebroken and overall well mannered, she is crate trained but also completely trustworthy in the house free roaming. She loves car rides, stretching out for a good nap, dog bones, romping in the backyard with her dog friends & just hanging out with people!
At 4 years old Winnie is past all those puppy shenanigans. She’s a big girl but never jumps or knocks people down. She does wonderfully with the children in her foster home. Winnie has the sweetest spirit and will make a devoted companion. She’s always up for any adventure or just a chill day snoozing near you. She is super deserving of a great forever home!
Oklahoma Humane Society

Bessie will be eligible for adoption at the end of March. Do not let this one get away from you! Bessie is a wiggly little chunk! She is 3.5 months old (at the time of her photo) and 27 pounds of stout wiggly joy. She has the cutest underbite. She loves attention, riding shotgun, and snack time!

Meet Roux! She’s a super friendly, moderate to high-energy 4-year-old Australian Shepherd mix, weighing around 30 lbs. With her active nature, she will thrive best in a home with a yard. She loves learning, treats, and would likely excel in agility or obedience work. While she gets along with cats with slow introductions, her rambunctious nature means a home without small children is ideal. Roux exhibits non-aggressive, communicative ‘herd the human’ behavior with a big chesty growl. Housebroken, nondestructive, crate trained, and good in a car, Roux is learning to entertain herself and doesn’t display anxiety when left alone. However, she needs to be discouraged from eating feces and counter-surfing for treats.

We gotta talk about Bruno! This handsome 6-8 year old, 70 lb pit bull terrier mix, is a charming conversationalist with a penchant for catch and a need for a canine buddy. Following his unexpected arrival in a local pet store, he spent a stressful period in boarding which lead to health complications. He has since thrived in a foster home alongside a lively dog and three cats. This couch potato enjoys car rides, kennel time (especially with a friend), and exploring Bar K, but his history necessitates a home with privacy fencing and at least one other dog to ease his isolation anxieties. Fully house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, and great with children, dogs, and cats, Bruno is seeking a loving family who will appreciate his unique personality and include him in their daily adventures.

Meet Belle Star, a 2-year-old, 87-pound Labrador Retriever mix with a charming personality. This is her second time with her current foster home and they are determined to find her a forever home that will never leave her behind again. Belle is friendly with people, dogs, and children, and enjoys car rides. She’s leash-trained, crate-trained, and is excellent with other dogs and kids. Belle has couch potato energy level, making her a relaxed companion. She loves squeaky toys and balls, and is generally submissive, though she may submissively urinate when scared. One quirk is that she doesn’t like her feet being touched. Despite her past, Belle is a sweet, loving dog ready to find a new family who will cherish her forever.

Kindred, an 8+ year-old, 65-pound female pit bull terrier mix, was rescued after being found bony and emaciated, weaving through a busy intersection. Severely malnourished and suffering from multiple health issues, including infected ears, overgrown nails, and a bladder condition, she was hospitalized for a week and diagnosed as an insulin-dependent diabetic. (Don’t let her diagnosis scare you away; if her foster family can do it, so can you!) Four months later, Kindred has made a remarkable recovery and is now thriving! This couch potato loves cuddles, snacks, car rides, sun tanning, and leisurely strolls. Crate trained, good in a car, and great with dogs and children, Kindred’s easy-going and loving nature make her an amazing dog deserving of a forever home, though she would do better without cats.

Vega is a 1-2 year-old, 52-pound pit bull terrier mix with a loving heart and a dash of sass. After a rocky start at the OKC shelter, where she faced the euthanasia list twice, Vega’s resilient spirit shines through. This affectionate foodie adores her people and is happiest when she’s by their side—whether she’s exploring on adventures or snoozing in her kennel (blanket required, of course). Vega gets along well with other dogs, has been cat-tested with no issues, and even charmed a young child during a recent outing. Equal parts couch potato and cuddle bug, Vega is ready to share her love and become the princess of her forever home.

Kai was found in a park as a wee pup along with with six littermates and their mom. Kai is one of only three pups that survived. The other two and mama dog have all been adopted, and this cute boy is waiting for you to come meet him!

Honey Lee is a 4-year-old, 59 lb pit bull terrier mix who will be available for adoption in March. She was found as a stray near Honey Lee Ranch and, although she had recently given birth, her puppies were never found. It’s clear that she has raised several litters, and now she has the chance to live her own life. Honey Lee is incredibly sweet and loves her people. She is crate trained, house trained, and gets along well with children and other dogs. She’s also good in a car, making her a wonderful companion for any family looking for a loving and loyal addition to their home.

Theodore is a 9-year-old, 85 lb mastiff mix who is crate trained, good in a car, good with dogs, leash trained, good with children, and good with cats despite having cat allergies. He became famous through a heartwarming video of him in a shelter, where a small puppy climbed all over his head, leading to his rescue from euthanasia.
Theodore is a big, deaf boy who loves napping, physical affection, snacks, and chasing balls. He spends most of his days snoozing with his tongue out and is unbothered by most things due to his deafness, making him a chill guest. He enjoys the company of other animals but requires supervision as he can miss cues and be more sensitive. Despite missing some teeth, he eagerly munches on treats and will go anywhere for them. His kennel is his safe space, and he will walk himself in there when motioned. Theodore had two mast cell tumors removed, and while recurrence is likely, he takes Benadryl for allergies, which helps prevent growths. Theodore has so much life and love to give and deserves the perfect home. Meeting him will make you fall in love with this sweet boy.
