Harvey and SJ are 4 month old male littermates. These soon-to-be-available adoptable foster babies will be eligible on or near 12/24/2024. They have taken some time to get all healthy and are currently working on their social skills. While they are not big on cuddling–yet–they love some tasty treats and could possibly be tempted into some lap time. They are litterbox trained.
Glinda is a female calico about 1 year old. She intercepted her foster family on the way out of the theatre having just watched Wicked. Given her perky personality, she had to have the name Glinda. She is a total sweetheart, and a social lady who loves attention from all ages. Glinda is also a very busy gal who enjoys exploring and wicked tasty treats. She is litterbox trained.
The “Spooky” litter came a local community cat colony. The baby kitties were used as bait to trap mom who was TNR’d (Trap, Neuter, Release) after the kittens weaned, and returned to her colony while the kittens entered foster care. They are each delightful with their own unique personalities:
Cobweb – sweetest baby angel. He is confident and outgoing. Wags his tail and always wants to be close to his human.
Cauldron – a very special boy. He’s been through so much and is soooo mischievous and silly. Also a big lover boy who sits on a shoulder like a parrot!
Boo – a gorgeous little lady with a big personality. She keeps her siblings in line!
Bones – a laid back, chill little man. He has no worries in this world!
Moon – mysterious and shy. Despite being one of the bigger kittens in the litter, he is reserved and quiet.
Raven – a chatty, independent leader! She could run her own company.
OKC Animal Welfare
A note about OKC Animal Welfare adoptables: because these animals live in foster homes rather than the shelter, they do not appear on the shelter’s website. For each one, within their bio, there is a link to call or email their foster people, or to their PetFinder profile.
Melody is a 2 year old, 60 lb female lab/pit mix with truly soulful eyes. She was brought into OKCAW as a stray. She had just weaned one litter and was already pregnant again. Her foster mom says, “Melody is the easiest foster I’ve ever had. When it came time to introduce her to my dogs, she walked right past them to lay on the dog bed 😂”
She is incredibly gentle and calm. She is a little shy at first but once she knows she’s safe, she becomes the cuddle queen! Melody’s number one goal in life is to lay next to her person in a soft spot. She’s not an adventurer, but she will follow you whenever you want to go. She is dog friendly and kid friendly to dog-respectful children. She can find young children scary when they are being loud and fast and needs to be with kids who understand how to give her space. To learn more about Melody, contact her foster at Kaylinb1031@gmail.com.
Miller’s Cause
Reni was surrendered to the shelter by her previous owner for euthanization. (!?!?!?) She was emaciated and had recently had a litter of puppies. She is slow to get to know and trust new people, but is a very good girl. Reni is an Australian Shepherd mix, about 1 year old, and 45 lbs. She is crate trained, leash trained, good in a crate, good in a car and good with other dogs.
Artemis Rose was an emaciated owner surrender. She had some sort of illness they weren’t prepared to manage, however after some time and testing, it turns out all she needs is extra enzymes with her food. She is now almost the perfect weight. Artemis is five years old and 20 lbs. She checks all the boxes: crate and leash trained, good in a car, with children, dogs and cats.
Artemis Rose is the perfect adoptable foster. She’s energetic, eager to please, and knows a LOT of commands, and is highly food motivated. In the studio, we discovered she already knows sit, down, roll over, and spin! She is learning to take treats gently, and is always happy!
Jackie is a one year old 22 lb female red & white corgi. She is crate and leash trained, good in a car, with children, dogs and cats. She is high energy and always on the move. She’s exhibited a couple episodes of minor food-related aggression, but overall, Jackie is a sweet girl who just wants to be with her people. Her ears do not stand up like most corgis but this only adds to her unique charm!
London is a charming tri-color corgi with a fluffy coat and a sweet disposition. She is a year old, 23 lbs, crate and leash trained, good in a car, good with dogs and cats, and respectful children. She’s intelligent, cooperative, and has a moderate energy level. While her previous family reported toy guarding, her current foster home hasn’t observed this behavior with well-balanced dogs who respect her space.
To ensure a smooth transition, London would likely thrive in a home with older children who can understand her need for personal space. Her foster family recommends feeding her in a crate to provide a calm environment for mealtimes. With patience and understanding, London can become a loving and loyal companion.
Misfits Mutts & Meows
Tripod (7 years) and Brownie (6 years) are two female canine companions. Their previous owner, could no longer care for them due to his health challenges. These playful pups are always up for a good time, and they’re even curious about making feline friends. Brownie, the adventurous one, has mastered the art of scaling a 3-foot baby gate! Both girls are incredibly friendly and love snuggling with their human companions.
Barney is a spirited young dog, found wandering the streets of Crescent. He spent a month in the local pound before Misfits Mutts & Meows offered him a temporary refuge. Barney is always up for a good time, but he’s selective about his canine companions, preferring the company of calm, larger dogs. Barney is a little too curious about cats. He’s a quick learner and responds well to basic commands, making him a joy to train.
Sissy, Missy, and Bubba are all from the same litter and are approximately 7 months old, full of youthful energy and curiosity. These playful kittens are ready to bring joy and laughter to a loving home. Whether it’s chasing a ball of yarn, cuddling on a lap, or simply enjoying a good nap, these three are sure to steal your heart.
Groot and Rocket were abandoned in the country as mere babies. Despite their rough start, with a little love and care, they’ve overcome their initial health challenges. Though their large pupils give them an otherworldly appearance, they’re full of playful energy and affection. While they may need some time to adjust to a new environment, they’re sure to become cherished members of a patient and loving family. Due to their high energy and sensitivity, they may not be the best fit for homes with very young children.
Miranda, about a year old, was found living alone at Lake Hefner, where she was rescued by a kind police officer who contacted Misfits Mutts & Meows for assistance. Miranda is a sweet and affectionate girl who loves attention, but she also has a playful and mischievous side emerges occasionally.
Fritzie, a sweet and curious 1.5-2 year old female cat, was found abandoned in the small town of Crescent, OK. Despite her tough start, she is a loving and playful companion, eager to find her forever home. Though she may be a bit shy at first, she warms up quickly and enjoys cuddling and playing with her human friends. Fritzie is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and ready to bring joy to a family who will cherish her.
Oklahoma Humane Society
Jiggly Pup got her name because of her wiggle! She appears to be constantly wagging her tail, and always looks happy. Even without the wiggle, she is an easy going gal, with no idea that she’s “different”. Currently at 7 months and 30 lbs, Jiggly has congenital hypomyelination, a nerve condition that causes her to shake uncontrollably especially when she is excited. She will do best on carpeted floors as she has better traction that way. She is crate trained, leash trained, good in a car, good with children, and loves play time with other dogs.
Lotus is a 1 year old female mixed breed. Her OK Humane Society foster found this sweet, shy girl living alone in the woods at Draper Lake when she showed up on a trail camera! After a night in a kennel decompressing she surprised her hosts by crawling out of her kennel and right into a lap! Even when afraid, Lotus loves affection.
It’s clear she doesn’t have much experience with normal things like car rides and walks, so she’s still building her confidence. However she loves her humans and is a Velcro dog once has trust. She has good dog skills and is playful but submissive with other dogs. She would probably benefit from a having a confident dog in the home to guide her. Once she relaxes, she has a lot of puppy energy and is still learning not to jump up on people in excitement. For this reason she may not be a good choice for very small children or anyone with mobility issues. Lotus does fine in a crate or room, but mostly wants to be near her people as much as possible. She’s learning leash basics, but is still afraid of sudden noises and loud engines on walks. She has not been cat tested.
Saving Sylvie Rescue
Meet Howdy and Hyde! These 2 year old males might as well be littermates, they are so close and get on so well. Howdy is a cattle dog mix, and Hyde (named for his cow-like markings) is a hound dog mix. They were dumped at Lake Draper, and found starving. Both are velcro dogs with their people Hyde loves everything, cats included. He is a bit on the shy and cautious side. Howdy does NOT like cats and is very confident and energetic. Both really like to chase squirrels.

Meet Hope, one of the all around perfect dogs that frequently show up in the studio. Hope is a female shepherd mix at 4 months old and 18 lbs. She is crate trained, and came into rescue from a man threatening to dump her entire litter, which all had parvo. Hope and one sister were the only survivors. As a puppy, she is still working on all training and socialization, but she’s a FAST learner and has lots of energy. She is quiet, confident, very energetic, eager to please and food motivated, but also a toy fanatic and can entertain herself for quite a while with the right toys.
