Emily, a 2-year-old, 7-pound tabby, is an adoptable foster kitty with a calm demeanor who came from a colony with her four now-adopted kittens. Though initially quite shy, she blossoms into a wonderful cuddle bug once she feels secure. Emily is litterbox trained and a perfect companion for a quiet home. She is also a FeLV recessive cat, which means she is not contagious. Because of her condition, Emily requires a home where she can be the only cat or live with other FeLV recessive felines to keep her immune system strong.
More about recessive FeLV: a cat with a recessive (also known as regressive or abortive) infection is not contagious and will not test positive on a standard antigen test. These cats have a low viral load, which means their immune system has successfully fought off the infection, but a small amount of the virus still exists in their bone marrow. To protect their health, they should live in an exclusively stress-free environment, which helps prevent the virus from reactivating. This means they should be an indoor-only cat, have a stable routine, and receive a high-quality diet. Most regressive cats live a normal lifespan without any health problems.

The Marlee Project

Brinlee—an 80 lb powerhouse of muscle and Bully-breed strength—is a masterpiece of contradictions. While her size might suggest chaos, she moves through the world with an unexpected and intentional gentleness, never crowding the space or bumping an object; she simply is. Her history is written in the scars she carries from an abandoned life and a traumatic past, yet when she offers a “sit” or a “shake” with heartbreaking precision, it serves as a poignant reminder that she was once loved. This three-year-old survivor is a brilliant mix of high-energy play and refined manners; she is a beautifully house-trained, “shotgun-riding” passenger who will crack you up with her range of facial expressions and her insistence on being an 80 lb lap dog. Though she is still learning to navigate her relationship with other dogs after her past hardships, her devotion to humans is absolute, and she thrives on the security of being near her people rather than being left outside alone. It was a privilege to witness her joy through my lens—Brinlee isn’t just a foster dog, but a testament to the fact that our pasts do not have to define our spirits.

Nellie just wants to be near you! Nellie, a high-energy lab pit mix, is an 11-month-old pup bursting with joy and love after being saved from euthanasia at an OKC shelter when she was 8 months old. This playful girl absolutely loves toys and loves for other dogs play with her. Nellie is crate trained, does well on a leash, and is a happy car rider, making her an ideal companion for a family with children and other dogs. To learn more about welcoming this joyful pup into your home, please contact davisdebbie70@yahoo.com.
Miller’s Cause

Stormy Leigh is an 11-month-old, 40-pound Australian Shepherd foster and a true breath of fresh air. After spending two months in a shelter environment—which is a long time for a busy young Aussie—she is more than ready to find her rhythm in a forever home. Stormy is a classic “Blue Merle” beauty with a quirky, joyful personality; she’s even known to hop like a deer when she’s excited! She is high-energy, sweet, and incredibly eager to please, though she’ll need a family committed to providing the positive direction and training a young working breed craves. If you’re looking for a “busy” best friend who will keep you laughing and active, Stormy Leigh is ready to hop right into your heart.

Preston is a 1- to 2-year-old, 30-pound Mini Australian Shepherd foster dog who is full of life and color. This striking “Red Tri” boy was a frequent flyer at his local shelter until his owners realized he needed a more active environment and surrendered him for a better placement. Preston is the definition of “happy-busy”—he is very high-energy, playful, and always looking for the next adventure. He is already crate and leash trained, social with children and other dogs, and a great passenger in the car. He does have a typical “working dog” quirk: he prefers to protect his food bowl, but this is easily managed by feeding him in his own space. If you’re looking for a smart, athletic, and joyful companion to keep your days bright, Preston is ready to go!

Steve is a 2-year-old, 40-pound Australian Shepherd adoptable foster who is the ultimate “big baby.” A handsome Black Tri, Steve found himself in rescue when his previous owners moved and couldn’t take him along. True to the sweet nature of the breed, he is eager to please and lives for affection. Steve is a medium-energy guy who is already well-adjusted to home life, being crate trained, leash trained, and a pro in the car. He gets along famously with both children and other dogs, making him a versatile and loving addition to almost any family. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who just wants to be your best friend, Steve is ready and waiting.

Rosa is an 8-year-old, 60-pound Red Heeler foster looking for a soft place to land after a heartbreaking turn of events. After both of her owners passed away unexpectedly, Rosa has proven herself to be an adaptable and incredibly calm companion. True to her Heeler roots, she’s a “shadow dog” who loves to follow her person from room to room and keep a watchful, loving eye on the household. While she is a self-proclaimed couch potato, she still has plenty of spirit for walks and chasing balls. Rosa is a rare gem who is good with children, dogs, and cats alike. She isn’t a fan of the crate, but she is a perfect lady when left home alone. This sweet, red-and-black beauty does require a special diet for urinary health, but in exchange, she offers a lifetime of loyalty and steady companionship.

Beth is an 18-month-old, 30-pound Border Collie/Aussie mix foster who is as sweet as she is stunning. Originally hailing from Elk City, Beth joined Miller’s Cause after they previously helped one of her housemates, and Beth has proven to be a delightful addition. While she can be a little shy at first, this “Black Tri” beauty is incredibly easy-going and possesses a medium energy level that is surprisingly mellow for her breed mix. Beth is a social girl who is already crate trained, leash trained, and a great passenger in the car, making her an ideal companion for a family with children or other dogs. If you’re looking for a playful yet gentle soul who just needs a little initial patience to blossom, Beth is ready to find her forever home.

Beans is a 1- to 2-year-old, 25-pound Boston Terrier who is the ultimate survivor. Despite a harrowing past where he was abandoned for over a week without food or water, Beans hasn’t lost an ounce of his joy. Living up to his name, this brindle-and-white fireball is famous for jumping like a “Mexican jumping bean” when he’s excited! He is a high-energy, “happy-busy” boy who is incredibly sweet and loves to play. Beans is already well-prepared for a forever home, as he is crate trained, leash trained, and a great passenger in the car. He is also friendly with both children and other dogs. If you’re looking for a resilient, athletic, and endlessly entertaining companion, Beans is ready to spring into your life!

Ollie is a 4-year-old, 35-pound Blue Merle Australian Shepherd looking for a fresh start after a close call. Surrendered for his breed’s natural instinct to chase (chickens were his specialty!), Ollie is a sweet, medium-energy boy who is “all Aussie”—meaning he’s an independent thinker with a slightly aloof, dignified personality. While he’s not a fan of other male dogs, he gets along beautifully with the ladies and is a professional squirrel-watcher. Ollie is already well-versed in the basics, being crate, leash, and house trained, and he’s a perfect gentleman in the car and around children. If you’re looking for a stunning, easy-going companion who appreciates his personal space as much as he loves his people, Ollie is ready to meet you.

Grady is a 1-year-old, 29-pound Corgi mix who is the definition of “busy but happy.” Found as a stray in a rural area, this black, tan, and white fireball is ready to trade the country roads for a home with a dedicated playmate. Grady has high energy and a trademark Corgi independent streak, so he’s looking for an adopter with a little patience and a lot of love for a dog who knows what he wants! He is already a pro at the essentials—crate trained, great in the car, and social with both children and other dogs. If you’re looking for a smart, active companion who will keep you on your toes and fill your home with personality, Grady is your guy.

Loki is an 18-month-old, 38-pound Australian Cattle Dog mix foster dog who is the definition of “all Heeler.” This busy, driven boy is looking for a secure home with a fence after a young life spent wandering, and he’s ready to trade the open road for a life of purposeful adventure. Loki is a social butterfly who loves people and children, though he does require a cat-free home to satisfy his high prey drive and love of squirrel watching. While he is excellent with other dogs, he can be a bit bossy initially and appreciates a leader who can guide his introductions. Already a pro at the “boring” stuff—he’s crate trained, leash trained, and a dream in the car—Loki is the perfect match for an active family looking for a smart, high-energy companion to keep them moving.
Misfits Mutts & Meows

The Misfits & Country Kitties Portfolio
This feline group highlights the incredible work done to bring “country cats” into the safety of indoor life. Leading the pack is Janus, a beautiful 2-year-old Domestic Longhair Torbie who arrived from the country and raised her three 5-month-old kittens—Zeb, Socks, Bernie, and Lilo. While this crew can be a bit shy, they are sweet, playful, and adjusting beautifully.
Joining them is another diverse group of resilient strays, including Squeaks, a 2-year-old who might be a little standoffish at first but is easily won over with treats! The younger crew—Beans, Rice, Bee Gee, and Cinder—ranges from 6 months to 1 year old. Whether they are “happy playful kids” like the boys or the more “shy but adventurous” girl Cinder, these kitties are all litterbox trained, good with other cats, and ready to find their forever families.
Mutt Misfits Animal Rescue Society

Pete, affectionately known as “Pistol Pete,” seeks a patient and loving home that understands his Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), also known as “Wobbly Cat Syndrome.” Originally adopted as a kitten, this 4-year-old couch potato was recently returned due to his owner’s declining health. Pete loves to lounge in cat huts, boxes, or on the couch, but will happily emerge for snuggles. Due to his CH, he uses his claws to get around, so he needs an adopter to help him get onto furniture or give him access to only cat-safe surfaces. He gets along wonderfully with other cats and has lived with dogs his entire life. To best accommodate his condition, Pete requires a high-sided or covered litter box and non-slip food and water bowls to ensure everything stays in its place. This wonderful boy is ready for a family to embrace his quirks and give him a comfortable place to call home.
OKC Animal Welfare
A note about OKC Animal Welfare adoptables: because these animals live in foster homes rather than the shelter, they do not appear on the shelter’s website. For each one, within their bio, there is a link to call or email their foster people, or to their PetFinder profile.

Hobart, ID #A304805, is an adoptable foster seeking a new home after returning to the shelter at no fault of his own. This handsome, cropped-ear male is an 8-year-old, 80-pound couch potato whose favorite hobby is napping, often greeting the world with a contented, sleepy smile. He is potty-trained, knows how to use a dog door, is crate-trained, and rides well in the car. Hobart is wonderfully patient and likes children, and he gets along with other dogs, though he appreciates a slow introduction to ensure a good fit. He walks well on a retractable leash and will make a devoted and easy-going companion. For more information about Hobart or to arrange a meeting, contact his foster people at stapleok1@gmail.com.

Holly is a 2 and a half year old hound mix, approximately 40 lbs. Her ID# is A440327. She has a medium energy level, is crate and leash trained, good in a car and good with other dogs with slow introductions. Holly can be very playful, but also settles down easily. Holly can entertain herself for a good while with a nylabone, and loves to sleep on the couch or a bed. For more information about Holly or to arrange a meeting, contact her foster people at okboxerdog1@gmail.com.

Poppyseed and Cinnamon Swirl are a 4-month-old bonded duo whose story is one of incredible survival. After a rough start with a severe respiratory infection that took their brother’s life and left Poppyseed without her eyes, these two have become an inseparable team. Poppyseed is a “total angel” who doesn’t let her lack of sight slow her down; she navigates by following her best friend’s lead and letting out the sweetest purrs. Cinnamon Swirl is Poppy’s devoted guide—a “sweet and spicy” brown tabby who loves a good snuggle once she’s finished playing. They are high-energy, litterbox-trained, and great with other pets. Because Poppy relies so much on her sister to navigate the world, these two are looking for a forever home together where they can continue their adventures side-by-side.

Samuel (adopted), Nadine, and Chloe are a darling trio of 2-month-old kittens who have survived the unthinkable. After being trapped following a likely animal attack, these 2-pound miracles have spent the last few weeks healing and proving just how tough they are. Samuel has fully recovered from a wound to his side, and sweet Nadine, who lost part of her back leg in the attack, is preparing for surgery to live her best “tripod” life soon. Despite their rough start, these kittens are pure joy—they meow loudly for human affection the moment they see you and are professional snuggler-and-play experts. Their personalities are blossoming daily, showing a mix of medium energy and deep gratitude for their second chance. They will be officially available around February 16, 2026, and are looking for forever homes that will cherish their brave spirits.

Tucker is a 1.5-year-old, 70-pound Lab mix foster who is a total showstopper. With one piercing blue eye and one warm brown eye, he has a look that is as unique as his personality. Found as a social stray in a parking lot last October, Tucker has transitioned perfectly to indoor life and has proven himself to be a world-class family dog. He is a goofy, loving guy who simply wants to be part of the action, whether he’s playing with other dogs or hanging out with his favorite humans. He is particularly fond of children—his foster brother is his absolute favorite person—and he strikes a perfect balance with a medium energy level that is ready for play but happy to relax.

Meet Dottie and Speckles, a pair of 11-week-old mixed-breed puppies who are guaranteed to keep you smiling. Found wandering in rural Shawnee at just six weeks old, they appear to be a charming mix of Pittie and spotted herding dog. Speckles (12 lbs) is white with large brown patches and adorable freckling; he’s a total mama’s boy who likes to “talk big” but is all heart. Dottie (10 lbs) is the adventurous one—fearless, independent, and covered in distinctive black spots that match her “tiny but mighty” personality. Both are extremely affectionate, love car rides (as long as they can sit in your lap!), and are obsessed with towels of all kinds. They are making great progress with potty training and are socialized with children, dogs, and cats. Whether they are being “full of opinions” or snuggling up after a play session, these two are ready to bring a lot of character to their forever homes.

Kratos is a 6-year-old, 70-pound Pocket Bully breed foster finally getting the second chance he deserves. After being saved from a bad situation as a puppy, he was sadly abandoned when his previous owners lost their home. Despite living outdoors for a time, Kratos has remained a steady, medium-energy sweetheart who just wants to be near his people. He is incredibly smart, already knowing basic commands, and he gets along beautifully with children, other dogs, and even cats! While he’s a nearly perfect companion, he does have one “pro” skill: he’s an expert counter surfer, so he’ll need a family that keeps the snacks tucked away. If you’re looking for a loyal, smart, and social soul, Kratos is ready to move off the porch and into your heart.

The “Twilight” Crew: Rosalie, Edward, Emmett, and Jasper
Meet the most famous litter in the foster system! These 4-month-old domestic shorthair kittens are a rescue success story. After their mother was taken in off the streets by a kind stranger, this quartet—Rosalie, Edward, Emmett, and Jasper—was raised in a safe, loving home and is now ready for the spotlight.
Their personalities offer the perfect mix for any home: Rosalie and Edward are the “play machines” of the group, ready to hunt down any string toy in sight. Meanwhile, Jasper and Emmett are the kings of drama; they love a good play session, but they would much rather be held like literal babies and pampered. All four are litterbox trained, socialized with children and other cats, and are currently waiting for their forever families at the I-240 Petsmart.

Rosie is a 9-month-old mixed breed foster with We’re OK Foundation who brings a wonderful mix of confidence and playfulness to every room she enters. Despite a turbulent start to her young life, Rosie has remained incredibly easy-going and good-natured. She is a “plug-and-play” kind of dog: house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, and socialized with both dogs and cats. Rosie is highly treat-motivated and eager to please, making her a joy to train. She would thrive in an active home that can appreciate her high energy and provide her with the forever security she deserves. If you’re looking for a silly, loving companion who is ready for any adventure, Rosie is your girl.

Luca is a 2-year-old, 60-pound mixed breed who has spent the last year working through a heartbreaking history of mistreatment by a former owner. Initially completely shut down and fearful, this handsome boy has slowly learned the beauty of trust, though he remains extremely anxious around men and is seeking a patient, understanding home where he can continue to heal at his own pace. While he was recently returned after five months because his deep-seated fears weren’t a fit for that household, Luca is an incredibly good dog who is already house-trained, crate-trained, leash-trained, and wonderful with both dogs and cats. He is a shy, medium-energy soul who requires a slow warm-up period, but once he chooses you as his person, he is a devoted companion who is simply looking for a quiet, safe space where he never has to be afraid again.

Honey Lee is a 4-year-old, 59 lb pit bull terrier mix who will be available for adoption in March. She was found as a stray near Honey Lee Ranch and, although she had recently given birth, her puppies were never found. It’s clear that she has raised several litters, and now she has the chance to live her own life. Honey Lee is incredibly sweet and loves her people. She is crate trained, house trained, and gets along well with children and other dogs. She’s also good in a car, making her a wonderful companion for any family looking for a loving and loyal addition to their home.
